pulseiras desejo (wish bracelets) are one of the main things I loved from my pre-teen/teen years. I remember the first time I ever got one. It was sometime in the 90’s and I took a summer vacation to visit family in brasil. my cousin fatima and I went down to the beach and there was this stand selling a bunch of cool hand made jewelery. I grabbed a red beaded wish bracelet and the woman told me it was for love. she told me if I wish for love to take that bracelet, put it on, and never take it off. she said in due time it will fall off on it’s own, and when it does, my wish will be heard. what can I say.. it’s a brasilian folklore and we’re full of those lol.
anywho, I bought a whole bunch of them and brought them back with me to america for my friends and to have extras. call me cheesy but, I believe in these kinds of things. I always make a wish when I catch a shooting star or even when I catch the time at all of the same digits.
